This is a working draft, not legal advice. Have a qualified Kenyan advocate review it before public launch, and before any paid plan is introduced. Items that still need a decision or confirmation are marked with a bold, bracketed, all-capitals note; resolve every one before publishing.
JobHuntAI ("Ledger" in the mobile and desktop apps) is operated by Kelvin Nyabate Nyabuto, an individual (not a registered company) ("we", "us", "our"). Contact: keynetiqsystems@gmail.com.
These terms govern your use of the JobHuntAI website, the mobile and desktop apps, and the backend service behind them (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You must register with an email address you actually own. Creating accounts under someone else's email, or creating several accounts to get around free-plan limits, is not allowed (see section 7).
The Service searches for job listings and industry news, summarizes them, tracks the opportunities you save, and, if you choose, uses AI to draft CV highlights and cover letters from the profile details you provide.
The Service is an information and productivity tool. In particular:
Drafts are generated by AI from the details you give us and the role you choose. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, generic, or unsuitable, and may contain statements that are not true of you.
You are responsible for:
We are not responsible for how you use a draft, or for any consequence of sending one to an employer or anyone else.
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with an access key. Each browser or device you connect gets its own credential. You are responsible for keeping your email account, access keys, and codes confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at the address above if you think your account or an access key has been compromised. You can see and disconnect your connected devices in your account settings.
"Your content" means what you give us: your email, profile details, CV text or files you upload, search queries, and the jobs you track.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that break this section.
The free plan has usage limits (currently 20 live searches and one AI draft a month, and how long history is shown). Limits and features may change.
Premium passes. Where the Service offers it, you can buy premium time as a prepaid pass (for example 1, 3 or 12 months) for a one-off payment. A pass does not renew by itself and you are not charged again unless you buy another one; buying again adds time to what you have left. The price, currency and any taxes are shown before you pay, and can differ depending on how you pay (for example M-Pesa or card). Premium has much higher limits, not unlimited use: currently up to 150 live searches and 60 AI drafts a month, to keep the Service sustainable for everyone. Payments are taken by a third-party payment provider on its own page, and we never see your card or M-Pesa details. When your premium time ends your account returns to the free plan; nothing is deleted. We may change prices and what premium includes for future purchases, but not for time you have already bought.
Refunds. Premium time is a digital service that starts as soon as your payment is confirmed. [REFUND POLICY TO CONFIRM, FOR EXAMPLE A SHORT REFUND WINDOW FOR UNUSED TIME, AND WHAT KENYAN AND UK CONSUMER LAW REQUIRES] If a payment is taken by mistake or twice, or you did not receive the premium time you paid for, contact us and we will put it right.
The free plan may show advertisements provided by third parties. We do not control those advertisers or their content and are not responsible for them. The Service also relies on third-party providers (such as hosting, search, AI, and email providers); how they handle data is described in the Privacy Policy. If a third-party service is unavailable or changes, parts of the Service may stop working.
Job listings, news items, and other results link to external websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, or privacy practices, and following a link is at your own risk.
Be careful of job scams. Never pay money to apply for or "secure" a job, and never share bank details, passwords, or government ID numbers with an employer you have not verified. Check an employer's identity and the listing's source yourself before you share personal information or act.
The Service, including its software, design, text, and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to use it in line with these terms. You may not copy or build on it except as the law allows.
As between you and us, we claim no ownership of the drafts the Service generates for you and you may use them for your own applications. Because AI can produce similar text for different people, we cannot promise that a draft is unique or free of anyone else's rights.
The Service is provided on an as-available basis. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always accessible. We may change, limit, or discontinue any part of it, for example for maintenance, security, cost, or legal reasons, with reasonable notice where practical.
We do not promise that your data will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important, such as your CV and any draft you rely on. You can download your data from your account settings.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your account in your account settings.
We may suspend or end your access, or discontinue the Service or any part of it, if you break these terms, if we need to for security or legal reasons, or if we stop offering the Service, with reasonable notice where practical.
When your access ends, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should continue (including sections 4, 6, 10, 11, 14 to 17, and 19) continue after termination.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that listings, news, or AI-drafted content will meet your expectations or be free from errors.
What we are not liable for. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
Cap. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service or these terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim, and (b) [CAP AMOUNT FOR FREE USERS TO CONFIRM, FOR EXAMPLE KES 5,000].
What these terms do not limit. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. This includes liability for:
If any part of this section is found not to be enforceable, the rest still applies to the greatest extent permitted by law.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to compensate us for loss, damage, and reasonable costs (including reasonable legal fees) that we suffer because a third party brings a claim arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the Service, or your content infringing someone's rights. We will tell you promptly of any such claim and give you reasonable chance to help deal with it. This section does not apply to the extent that it would reduce a right you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the laws of Kenya.
If you have a complaint, please write to us first at the address above and give us [30] days to try to resolve it informally. If it is not resolved, the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction. [LAWYER TO CONFIRM WHETHER TO ADD MEDIATION OR ARBITRATION IN NAIROBI AS A STEP BEFORE COURT]
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in the courts of that country if the law gives you that right.
We may update these terms as the Service changes or the law requires. If a change is material, we will give you notice in the Service or by email, at least [14] days before it takes effect where practical. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
